New Ways to Address Poverty

I recently came across this statistic and I think it carries a lot of weight as we consider how to engage the issue of extreme poverty.
"Every 1 percent increase in entrepreneurship results in a 2 percent decrease in the poverty rate. "
So often we limit what it looks like to care for the poor. We develop ideas and try to implement them in ways that are ineffective. This stat really challenges me and is a key, I believe, to seeing the poor coming out of extreme poverty. Lets go out and train, encourage, and partner with the entrepreneurs in the developing world!
